Trey Purdie Memorial Scholarship
The Trey Purdie Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of Trey Purdie, an exemplar young man and former member of the Alberta High School Rodeo Association (AHSRA). Trey’s dedication to his community, love of rural life, and passion for rodeo have inspired the creation of two distinct scholarship opportunities, aimed at supporting students who share his values.
There are two award categories:
- CESD/Red Deer County Residents: Two $2,500 awards are available to students who reside on a working farm or ranch and are either a resident of Red Deer County or graduating from a school within the Chinook’s Edge School Division. The application deadline for this award is May 31.
- AHSRA Members: A $2,000 award is open to AHSRA members in good standing who are graduating from high school. Applications for this scholarship are available through the AHSRA, with a deadline of April 1.
Require Documents:
- Completed application form
- Two references
- University/College acceptance letter
- Working copy of high school transcript or copy of PowerSchool marks
- An application essay (300-500 words)
Each award has its own criteria, deadline and submitting process. Please read all pieces of the application carefully.
Note: As per CRA regulations, our Foundation is not at liberty to disburse the awards directly to recipients. Rather, we release the funds directly to qualified post-secondary institutions, which then credits the student’s tuition account.
